The merger between two large, global insurance brokers brought together two very different approaches to procurement. Senior management at the new company wanted to bring its teams and cultures together as quickly as possible and appointed our global associate head of procurement to help them.

Timelines were tight. Not only did our associate need to build strong relationships to merge the differing methods into a single, efficient unit, they also had to deliver a programme of procurement activity for the year, including a common ‘Purchase-to-Pay’ (P2P) solution.

We focused on implementing a new global sourcing and category management strategy which united best practices and culture from both sides of the merger, allowing employees to rally to the new method and efficiently restructure into one global team, consolidating in-year synergy savings.
