Procurato is delighted to announce that GS1 UK has been named a finalist at the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards 2026 for its data quality improvement project delivered in collaboration with Procurato.
Whether online, in store or in a hospital, GS1 global standards help more than 60,000 UK organisations uniquely identify, describe and track anything, creating greater trust in data for everyone. From product barcodes to patient wristbands and now QR codes, GS1 has been transforming how we work and live for 50 years as one of 120 independent GS1 organisations worldwide.
The project supports GS1 UK’s as a trusted source of truth for UK retail product data, exploring how AI and machine learning can be used to assess and improve data quality at scale. Working closely with GS1 UK, Procurato developed an approach that combined AI technology with human expertise to assess millions and millions of records across multiple quality dimensions. The project provided a clear picture of data quality at scale and gave GS1 UK actionable insights and a clear direction for future improvements.
The BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence across the technology profession, with the winners to be announced later this year.
